America’s most iconic pickup truck and best-selling F-Series truck in the world is getting electrified in the Spring of 2022. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning can be yours soon as they are hitting dealerships in a few months. As always trucks are meant to get many tasks done such as carrying heavy payloads, towing thousands of pounds for boats and trailers, and the daily driving capabilities of a regular vehicle all in one. The 2022 Ford Lightning brings it a step further by becoming fully electric.

The world of electric vehicles is here, and Ford is taking a huge leap with the development of an electric truck. The idea of hiding the fact that this is an electric truck by keeping most of the original style of the other famous F-Series trucks is a bold decision, but Ford has paid it off. Going fully electric is just lending a hand by being completely eco-friendly to the environment with the same capabilities. The Ford F-150 Lightning has 100% electric power, advanced technology never seen before inside a truck, more storage than any other competitors, and as always Built Ford Tough®.

Charging:
Ford is giving the brand-new F-Series a 300-mile range to get you almost anywhere you need. The vehicle charging network is growing rapidly in America with charging stations at hotels, gas stations, and supermarkets to give you a fast quick charge as you shop for a short time. Ford’s extended battery comes with an 80-amp charger with peak power at 19.2kW which can easily charge the entire battery overnight while parked in the garage. Leave for work every day with a fully charged truck.

Front Trunk (Frunk):
The benefit of the batteries being placed underneath the trunk leaves a massive compartment under the hood. Ford has turned this into a fully power-operated front trunk that can be opened from the key fob or the Ford App. With a huge capacity to fit two regular carry-on suitcases as well as the Pro Power Onboard 120V outlets to help on job sites, camping, or tailgating.

Trailer Park Assist:
The technology goes farther than any other competitors with the massive 15.5-inch screen that turns into a backup camera. The parking assist features help park long trailers or boats with multiply camera angles that all show up on one screen, so you don’t need to keep turning your head back and forth. Let Ford help you with ease.

Styling:
The Ford F-150 Lightning has had many appraisals for its style. Ford did not want to veer away from the classic, beautiful, and purposeful style of all F-Series trucks, so the Lightning looks very familiar. With subtle changes to let everyone on the road know you are driving. The massive lightbar is found in the rear but also in the front headlights.

Technology: The biggest change for Ford in the interior is the 15.5-inch touch screen infotainment screen. Similar to a smartphone, the vertical portrait screen makes controlling your truck super easy. Plugging in the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seamlessly integrates with the high-definition screen that can act as a virtual map. A 2nd integrated screen is the driver's digital gauge system which is fully customizable.

Towing: The power of electricity can tow up the Lightning up to 10,000 pounds with ease. The words “Build Ford Tough®” are a simple phrase that will also allow 2,000 pounds of payload. So whether the 5.5 footbed is full, or you are towing a heavy load, the Ford Lightning will have what it takes.
